What CITES is
A centre for the innovation that already exists in Uganda
CITES is an initiative by New Wave Technologies that helps young people turn their curiosity into practical skills. It focuses on digital skills, hands-on making, and entrepreneurship, especially for young people who have limited access to these opportunities.
Innovation is not scarce here. Platforms are. Talented young people in rural communities rarely get a table, a set of parts, or an audience for the solutions they build to problems they live with. CITES exists to supply exactly that, and to point at the results.

The flagship project
Grassroots Innovation Camp & Awards
A camp, an exhibition and an awards ceremony for innovators aged 6–16, held in Nankandulo Sub-County. Four award categories, certificates for every participant, and a model built to be repeated across Uganda.
